"Hi, you've reached Pepper Potts. For some weird reason I'm not here right now, but leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible with as many messages as it takes to get in touch with you!"
Pepper, in light of recent events, I would like to talk to you regarding the current political climate. If you could meet me at the hotel at your easiest convenience, with whomever you deem appropriate, I will provide lunch.
Tomorrow is fine with me. And, yes, bring anyone you think would be a help. If they're familiar with the city and its inhabitants, then we'd be remiss to not invite him.
I was informed that you were the last person to see him. From what I was told, that was in the Water district, and reportedly he was helping with the aftermath.
I'm pretty sure I'm the *only* one who's seen him and known who he was, if we're getting specific, but whatever.
Yeah, he and I pulled a kedan woman out from under a house that was collapsing into one of the canals. I recognized the magic he used to heal her afterwards as the same spell Raine had used on me last year when I broke a few ribs. I figured he had to be from the same world and he was, but he was very persistent about not wanting to see Raine, or Sheena, which was weird.
Apparently avoidance is a Thing with him. I lost him in a crowd in the market when I called Raine to let her know Kratos was there. She was the one that told me his name; he refused to introduce himself.
[Raine is a very good person. Clearly this means Kratos is the one with a problem.]
Uh, pretty sure he doesn't need to breathe, for one. We were under water for a while and not even a bubble came out of his mouth. And even with the auburn hair, he knows how to blend in. He's got a cloak with a hood that'll make him harder to spot. [Also: magical. But she technically doesn't know that.]
Her name is Joclen. She's a good enough shapeshifter to be able to form gills.
...why do you keep signing your texts? I know who you are now.
Deputy Chief Potts, I trust you are well. I am Arbitrator Eliyen. I admire your work with the KPD; you must have had some experience with the law where you come from, to be in such a position at your age.
Uh, yeah. Thanks. Hi. My dad's basically a national-level police officer, so it's sort of in the family I guess. Fighting bad guys is what I do back home, too. [Do the kedan understand what superheroes are? There have been enough Foreigners that they might.] Anything I can help with?
[Aaaand another kedan is getting in touch. Iiiinteresting. Pepper squints a little as if trying to place the woman's face.]
Oh, yeah, hi. I remember. Nice to see you again. [She thinks. This seems pleasant enough.] And yeah, I guess I do. It's sort of my job. I'm not super skilled when it comes to medical stuff, but I'm happy to play ambulance. Is there something you need me to do?
Also two separate kedan in prominent positions contacting her in a short period? Suspicious. Suhiet works with Raine, though, so that has to count for something.]
I could probably stand to pick up a little more advanced training, sure. My job is a bit hectic, but if you're ever seriously short on hands I'll try to see what I can do.
[Which could include a number of things, honestly, but she's never going to be against providing people with prompt and high-quality medical care.]
It's just what I do. The Healer's Guild is super important, though, and it seems like we hardly ever get Foreigners whose specialty is in medicine - the spell parameters are a little wonky, not gonna lie. You deserve all the support you can get.
[Pause. May as well just ask.]
Is it recruitment season or something, by the way? You're the second person to ask me about stuff I'm interested in.
[Pepper tilts her head at the last, faintly bemused.]
Well... not here, maybe, but where I come from there's definitely recruitment around the time people graduate from college, especially for people studying business. It's sort of weirdly intense.

Date: 2/7/17 22:52 (UTC)much to the annoyance of Sherlock.]Raine mentioned he was good at adapting-any idea what she would have meant? If we're talking shape-shifting it might complicate things a bit.
Did you happen to get the name of the woman you helped?

Do you have her address or any available contact information?

You seem to have some interest in helping people.

[...but it is nice, to be appreciated so. All of them know it's thankless work, which makes the appreciation almost always surprising and welcome.]
I wasn't aware there could be seasons for recruitment?
[This is inquisitive. It's also absolutely a deflection.]

Hm. Well, of course I'd like to secure your assistance for the future, but it's nothing so aggressive.
video;
Date: 3/19/17 23:56 (UTC)[She shrugs. Not a subject she was interested in.
Pepper blinks a little at the second part.]
Do you mean, like, officially?
